How many courses do I take per academic term?
Students can select from our traditional or accelerated track. The traditional track consists of taking one course each academic term and is a comfortable workload for most students with full-time jobs.
For those interested in earning their degree at a faster pace, we offer an accelerated track, which enables students to take two courses at a time and potentially finish the entire program in as little as one year.
Students are not locked into a track and may vary their course load throughout the duration of the program.
How much time should I plan to spend on the program each week?
The academic experience varies by student; however, we recommend that students plan to spend 10–12 hours per week for each course they take.
What courses are required to complete the M.B.A.?
The accelerated track lets you take two courses at a time and finish in just a year, while the traditional track offers one course at a time for completion in about two years. In addition, you may choose from optional concentrations in Digital Marketing, Change Management, Talent Management or Project Management.
Is a thesis required?
No, Benedictine's M.B.A. online program does not require a thesis. A culminating capstone experience is provided.
How many total credits are required?
The full M.B.A. online program consists of 30 credit hours (10 courses).
Students with an educational background in business may be eligible to waive up to four foundation courses.
Transfer Credit for Foundation courses require two undergraduate courses (typically upper division, i.e., sophomore, junior or senior level) in the same topic area with a grade of "B" within seven years of acceptance, or one equivalent graduate course with a grade of "B" or higher within five years of acceptance.
Note: A grade of "B" at the undergraduate level will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and additional documentation may be required.

The M.B.A. online does not have programmatic accreditation. However, the University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). The HLC is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This federally recognized body provides assurance that Benedictine meets quality standards for educational performance.
Can I transfer additional coursework beyond the foundation courses?
M.B.A. students are able to apply for Transfer Credit in any Managerial Process course, excluding MBA 6520 and MBA 6671. Transfer Credit for Managerial Process courses requires one equivalent graduate course (that is parallel in the syllabi, course description and course objective outcomes) completed with a grade of a "B" or higher.

What kind of educational background is required for admission?
You must have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. Students with an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 to 2.9 will be considered for conditional admission based on other aspects of their admissions file.
Is a GMAT required for admission into the M.B.A. online program?
No, Benedictine does not require a GMAT for admission into the Master of Business Administration program.
How many sessions a year do you offer?
The M.B.A. online program offers six sessions per year to allow you the greatest flexibility and convenience.
