Why Earn a BSN Online?

According to the Institute of Medicine and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, a nursing workforce with a higher percentage of BSN-prepared nurses creates enhanced patient outcomes.

The Institute of Medicine's recommendation that 80% of RNs have a BSN by 2020 fell short of being achieved; the profession is challenged to keep advancing. According to a 2021 AACN Survey of schools of nursing, 40% of hospital and other healthcare settings required new hires have a BSN and more than 77% of employers preferred new graduates with a BSN.
Through Benedictine's online RN to BSN program, you won’t just meet the needs of the growing healthcare field. You will build on your current knowledge and experiences, using real-life situations and application of evidence-based practice. Whether you have been working as a nurse for years or you’re just entering the field, our program enhances the personal and professional development of the practicing nurse.

The need for nurses is expected to grow 9% between 2020 and 2030.1 Nurses with a BSN are top choices for these roles and more. With your BSN, you will be able to pursue many new career opportunities, including case management, quality improvement, supervision, informatics, occupational health or public health, and you will be ready to advance your education even further with an online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
