Beth Kane earned a BS degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting from DePaul University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from DePaul University's Kellstadt School of Business. She is also a CPA.
After six years of experience at various Fortune 100 companies she started her own business, which provides consulting for large and small companies for accounting and tax issues as well as income tax services for individuals.
In 1998 she began teaching as an adjunct faculty member at two neighborhood colleges. She initially taught online courses and eventually developed online courses, trained new faculty to teach in the online environment and mentored faculty through the initial courses of their online teaching experience. Kane wrote and published a textbook, Creating the Band, which allows students to practice what they learn in accounting courses.
For more than a decade, Beth Kane has been running her own consulting business which she started after her work experience at various Fortune 500 companies. Her company provides consulting for large and small companies for accounting and tax issues, as well as income tax services for individuals. A consultant and Certified Public Accountant, Kane has been teaching since 1998. She is involved in the development of online courses, and the training and mentoring of new faculty on the online learning environment.
