Jasmin B. Whitfield, D.N.P., M.S.N., M.P.H., RN

Adjunct Faculty

Dr. Jasmin Whitfield is currently a Health Care Coordinator at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. She is accountable for the oversight and organization of Health Services including but not limited to developing and managing occupational health and safety education, policies, and programming for students and employees. In addition to health and wellness promotion and outreach, Dr. Whitfield's extensive background includes progressive administrative roles in acute rehabilitation services; orthopedic, spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, cardiology, amputee, and CVA.

Leadership and strategic planning are inherent traits through hands-on experience. She received a dual Master’s degree in Community Health Nursing and Urban Public Health and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in systems leadership that has prepared her to become a clinical leader in health care, education, and research, providing quality and outcomes improvement. She has been able to successfully incorporate these learned tools and skills into everyday practice and focus through active engagement in her current work developing, implementing and co-teaching health and wellness courses for students. Her focus over the past five years has concentrated on an implementation project that studied the impact of an evidence-based health and wellness curriculum on 5th and 6th grade students that effectively promotes personal health and reduces injury and illness.
