When deciding to pursue a master’s degree, Xynthia Torres knew she would need a flexible online degree program that enabled her to complete her studies while simultaneously working full-time. “Benedictine University’s comprehensive M.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior program allowed me to accomplish this,” she said.

Xynthia’s goal was to better understand the personal side of business, which is why she chose BenU. “The coursework emphasized people-centric business strategies,” she said, “I like that that aligns with my psychological background and my aspiration to lead with empathy.”

Xynthia credits Benedictine University’s steadfast commitment to personal growth and professional development as a key advantage. “There was a profound passion for individualistic leadership,” she said.

Detailed feedback from esteemed professors was another significant highlight for Xynthia. She expressed gratitude for the faculty’s exceptional responsiveness – which fostered a supportive and empowering learning environment.

“My research project was one of my favorite parts of my program at BenU,” Xynthia said. She researched the impact of workspace environment management on productivity. Her analysis concluded that incorporating natural elements, such as greenery and adequate lighting, can enhance engagement and improve overall well-being.

“Another favorite was the collaborative projects in my project management class,” she added. “We worked with peers from diverse fields, such as education, nursing and business.” Xynthia acknowledged the valuable insights and perspectives that cross-disciplinary collaboration provides.

Midway through achieving her organizational behavior degree, Xynthia was promoted to retention manager at her workplace where she supports student success across national partnerships in the education industry.

She has already begun implementing her expertise in her new role. “BenU helped me develop crucial skills like time management and structural planning. I now feel comfortable effectively allocating time and increasing my productivity.”
