Nursing professionals of the 21st century must understand how the government and healthcare providers interact in the health policy process. In NRHL 505 you will explore the essential elements that shape healthcare policy, nursing practice and nursing education.

You will assess the atmosphere in which policy is created and how compromise and bargaining shape policy decisions. You will also analyze current policy initiatives involving healthcare delivery, and share your insights with fellow classmates through weekly discussions. As you further your understanding of the healthcare process, you’ll discover how nurse leaders serve as advocates that help influence current and future policies affecting healthcare practices.
