The online M.P.H./M.B.A. program is comprised of 24 courses — or 21 courses for students who meet the requirements to waive three M.B.A. foundation courses. While completing this dual degree online, you will engage in studies at the intersection of business and public health, from managerial economics and operations management to biostatistics and epidemiology.
The M.P.H. component of our dual degree program includes a supervised internship, enabling you to apply course concepts in a health-related agency. This experiential aspect of the program also provides opportunities to explore and establish your professional goals.

To begin the dual M.P.H./M.B.A. program online, students must be accepted into both degree programs. You will complete one degree in its entirety before starting courses for the second degree. After completing your studies, you will earn two diplomas. We offer a simple admissions process with no application fees or testing requirements, making it easier to get started.

Degree and Minimum GPA | A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Students with an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 to 2.9 will be considered for conditional admission based on other aspects of their admissions file. |

Through the internship experience, you will apply what you have learned through hands-on practice under our faculty’s direct supervision. Whether you are looking to advance with your current employer or position yourself for a new career, the internship will give you 240 hours of field experience that can strengthen your resume.
Intern With Your Current Organization
We understand that returning to school, managing a full-time career and completing an internship can be a heavy workload. If you already work in your desired field, you can complete your internship with your current employer if you meet these requirements:
- You’ll be engaged in activities that are not a part of your regular job.
- Your employer will guarantee that the required clock hours for the internship don’t overlap with the hours for which you’re already compensated under your current employment contract.
- There will be a qualified preceptor (master’s degree trained personnel in a field related to public health) within the place of employment who can oversee the internship experience.

Dr. Bjorkman has been full-time with Benedictine for eight years, after a 25-year career in corporate environments working in organization development (OD), HR transformation, change communications and employee engagement. Her professional experiences with multinational corporations such as GE, HSBC, British Petroleum, Allstate, Sara Lee and Takeda Pharmaceuticals have given her a wealth of on-the-job experience with organizational change and leadership development. She is a published author on change communication and continues to conduct research, write and consult with organizations on this topic.

Faculty Spotlight: Krishna Bhagat, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.C.H.E.S.®
Dr. Krishna Bhagat is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health. Dr. Bhagat has experience managing large-scale research studies at an independent research company called NORC at the University of Chicago. She is also very passionate about addressing public health issues that affect societies across the globe and spent four years helping to develop, lead and teach an immersive Global Public Health program for undergraduate students.
Dr. Bhagat’s research interests include examining taken-for-granted public health ‘stories’ from a more critical lens so that we can work together to promote health in more holistic, effective, inclusive and safer ways.
Dr. Bhagat is also the on-campus student adviser and works closely with the Public Health Student Organization. She is happy to set aside time to speak with students about their career aspirations or opportunities to be involved in research or service projects in public health.
