We offer a streamlined admissions process for the online Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science program. There are no application fees or testing requirements, making it easier to get started.

Degree and Minimum GPAAn associate degree is preferred but not required. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or better from all colleges and universities previously attended is required.
TranscriptsOfficial transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. The prior completion of a college algebra course is recommended but not required.
Transfer Credits
  • Students can transfer their previously earned credits to this online program.
  • Credits to be transferred from other institutions are evaluated on the basis of their equivalents at Benedictine University. The awarding of credit is determined through the process of transfer credit evaluation and program/departmental approval.
  • Note that students transferring to Benedictine University’s undergraduate programs must have a minimum of 12 transferable semester credit hours. If a student has fewer than 12 semester credit hours of transfer credit, freshman requirements apply.
Credit for Work/Life ExperienceStudents can petition for course credit by submitting a portfolio that meets the academic standards specified by that program. Only portfolios that demonstrate sufficient mastery of the course’s learning outcomes can earn credit, with credit eligibility determined by the program director or department chair. Military CreditBenedictine University accepts the following for consideration under the military credit program:
  • Credit on a military transcript issued by any branch of the armed services
  • Credit presented on a Joint Services Transcript (JST)
  • Credit for training courses and programs that have been evaluated by a national higher education association, such as the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide credit recommendations
  • Military training or experience that may be otherwise documented
International Students

Students from around the world are invited to seek their Bachelor’s in Computer Science online with Benedictine University. For admission, prospective undergraduate international students must submit proof of English proficiency, meeting the following TOEFL or IELTS requirements:

  • TOEFL Internet-Based Test: 79
  • IELTS Exam: 6.5
