<p>Overall Internet Marketing Budgets are Exploding</p>
<p>The projected US ad spending via various online channels<sub>2</sub>‚ was 40.5 billion dollars or 12.5 percent in 2014, 36 billion dollars or 10.4 percent in 2013, 32.6 billion dollars or 14.4 percent in 2012, 28.5 billion dollars or 10.5 percent in 2011, 25.8 billion dollars or 13.9 percent in 2010, and 22.7 billion dollars or negative 3.4 percent in 2009.</p>
<p>Companies Intend to Spend More on Internet Marketing<sub>3</sub></p>
<p>24 percent of overall marketing spent this year will be allocated to digital and 28 percent of companies across industries are shifting a portion of their budget from traditional to digital media. 64 percent of companies are increasing their S E O focused budget and 51 percent are adding paid search marketing budget, demonstrating the preference for organic traffic driven by search as well as an understanding that online is where companies go to meet customers.</p>
<p>70 percent of companies are increasing their social media budget for Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites, even those who are admittedly without capabilities to measure social media R O I.</p>
<p>Huge Growth in Social Marketing Budgets<sub>4</sub></p>
<p>Currently, 5.6 percent of the marketing budget is spent on social media marketing. Over the next 12 months, this number will increase to 9.8 percent, and to 18.1 percent within the next five years.</p>
