A plan for collaboration is often a key element to health care grants. When you include a plan to collaborate with other organizations, you demonstrate to the potential funder that sharing resources and expertise with like-minded organizations is an important part of the project. It will also likely influence both its success and long-term sustainability.

Discuss how you will create collaboration for your proposal. Include the organizations you will reach out to and how you will engage them in the effort. As you are reading the collaboration ideas of others, think about how you can continue to strengthen your own collaboration plan.

What You’ll Learn in PBHL 6502

This course provides an overview of the grant writing process and funding sources for research, practice and administration/planning grants and requires development of a full grant proposal. You will explore funding sources and match a funding source with a topic of your choosing. You will learn that a grant topic is the cornerstone to a well-written and funded grant.

You’ll discover the importance of budgets, sustainability after the funding has ended and the role of collaboration to bring other organizations and stakeholders together to share ideas and resources.

Finally, you’ll learn what it takes to create a grant by creating your own full grant proposal using the steps you learned throughout the course.
