Health care leaders face ever-changing issues and thus require strong managerial skills. In PBHL 5506 Management of Health Services Organizations, you will hone these skills as you address current pressing issues in health care administration.

This course integrates cutting-edge journal articles (e.g. Harvard Business Review articles), practical experience from health care managers in the field and credible and current print- and web-based resources from prominent organizations and think tanks in the health care field.

You will develop leadership skills as you address ongoing challenges in the field. You’ll learn the skills that senior health care managers need to acquire. You’ll explore how issues have evolved over time, and gain an understanding of why and how health care leaders continually reassess strategies and update their own management skills.

What You’ll Learn in PBHL 5506

This first course in the Health Care Management concentration addresses key business functions as they apply to effective management of health care organizations. It provides a comprehensive and detailed perspective of managerial functions and organizational matters within the health care arena.

Course work covers issues that relate to hospitals and other provider-based organizations, as well as organizations occupied by other key stakeholders in our health care system. Emerging issues in health care are addressed from the perspective of how to best to manage them.
