Will my diploma show I was enrolled online?
No. Your diploma will look the same as an on-campus student's diploma. Note that an online education with Benedictine University is just as rigorous and high quality as an on-campus education and does not in any way impact your ability to find employment after graduation.
Can I still take this program if my undergraduate degree isn't in accounting?
We welcome professionals with a variety of undergraduate degrees. If your degree is not accounting related, you'll need to take these three additional foundation courses:
- MSA 500 – Financial Accounting
- MSA 601 – Managerial Accounting
- MSA 603 – Cost Analysis, Profit Planning and Control
Taking these courses will mean your degree will consist of 39 credits, not 30.
How is this program different from the on-campus master's in accountancy?
The only difference is your learning format. The coursework in this program is just as demanding as our on-campus program and you will graduate with the same credentials. Learning online allows you to study wherever and whenever you please, without ever having to visit campus.
How many sessions a year do you offer?

What kind of educational background is required for admission?
You must have an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. Students with an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 to 2.9 will be considered for conditional admission based on other aspects of their admissions file.

Is a GMAT required for admission to the M.S. in Accountancy program?
The GMAT is required for admission into the M.S. in Accountancy program. However, it may be waived if you have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better. If you do not have a GPA of 3.2 or better, you may still apply for the waiver pending the successful completion of a specified quantitative and qualitative course.

Do I have to visit campus?
No. This program is 100 percent online. Students have the ability to take a traditional course when it is offered if a student prefers to be in a classroom.
How many total credits are required?
The online M.S. in Accountancy degree consists of a minimum of 30 credit hours over 10 courses, depending on the business degree and courses you completed as an undergraduate. There is no residency or fieldwork required.
