I chose Benedictine University due to their online program accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission and their affiliation with various educational entities. The online Management program appealed to me due to the broad list of careers which the curriculum prepared me for in case I change my career focus post-graduation. The option to attend classes online at my convenience allowed me to complete homework during my lunch break at work and after my child’s bedtime. As a student, I swiftly found a comfortable routine for myself which allowed me to earn a living for my family and attend school. I am currently a Dean’s List student with a 4.0 Grade Point Average AND have a life outside of my education. Benedictine University provides a unique approach to learning by combining the new trend of online learning with the benefits of a large, traditional campus. Even though I attend classes 100% online, I also have access to Benedictine’s library and online scholarly journals to assist me with my studies. I also received a promotion last fall which I credit to my education. My foundation courses have fine-turned my communication skills and I feel better equipped drafting formal documents for both internal and external audiences. I have also used my managerial education to help me identify the needs of and better assist consumers.
