Vicki J. Coombs, PhD, RN, FAHA. Dr. Coombs works and resides in the Baltimore, Maryland area. She has been a registered nurse for approximately 25 years. She began her nursing education with an Associate Degree at Miami University (Ohio), later returned to school for a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and a Masters in Exercise Science. She completed her PhD in Nursing at the Johns Hopkins University in 2005. Dr. Coombs' clinical background is in cardiology and clinical trial research coordination. Her research interests and publications include the quality of life in patients with cardiovascular disease, prevention of childhood obesity, and clinical outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease or at risk for cardiovascular disease. Dr. Coombs is partner and Senior Vice President of Spectrum Clinical Research, a clinical trial management and consulting company. Dr. Coombs is a fellow in the American Heart Association and a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Dr. Coombs has served as adjunct faculty at Benedictine University since 2008.
