Discover the factors that drive ethical business decisions.

Format: Online
Duration: 8 weeks

Studying how the effects of an organization’s functions’ impact the world beyond its own walls is at the core of this course. From employment policies and pricing to environmental impact and globalization, whether or not a company operates in an ethical fashion drives how a company performs and how it is perceived. Finding an economic balance while managing the relationships between stakeholders is a task that can challenge even the most experienced managers. Performance results in ethics and profits can often be at odds with each other. For instance, high profits made at the price of destroying ecology or loss of US jobs because it’s cheaper to make things overseas are real-life challenges you may need to solve.

You will consider whether corporate social responsibility promotes or inhibits success and examine the effects of government regulation on various industries. Constant advances in technology bring new challenges to an organization, ranging from pirating to privacy breaches and cybercrime. The concept of triple bottom line tasks managers to consider the financial, social and environmental performance measures of an organization while making ethical decisions that affect a company’s future.
